At ESAF MICROFINANCE we are committed to the triple bottom goals of the company and the ESAF Group’s vision of creating a just and fair society. We want to carve out a reputation for being one of the most socially and environmentally responsible companies in India.

The key purpose of this policy is to:

• Define what CSR means to us

• Define the kind of projects that will come under the ambit of CSR

• Identify broad areas of intervention in which the company will undertake projects

• Serve as a guiding document to help execute and monitor CSR projects

• Explain the manner in which the surpluses from CSR projects will be treated

   3. Policy Statement

 

The CSR Policy focuses on addressing critical social, pharm environmental and economic needs of the

The Key focus areas for CSR activities of ESAF Microfinance are chosen in such a way that the broad vision of ESAF Group is fulfilled. ESAF Group envisions a just and fair society through holistic transformation of the poor and the marginalized. This implies addressing critical issues of the poor and the marginalized like education, health, sanitation, environment and skill development

 

 

4.1Education

  • Construction and renovation of school buildings.
  • Education of the underprivileged
  • Education of girls
  • Digital literacy through computer education.
  • Merit scholarships to financially backward students.
  • Free supply of note books and text books.

4.2 Healthcare 

  • Free medical camps (general and multi-specialty with specialist doctors).
  • Mobile clinics with doctors and paramedical staff
  • Free ambulance services.
  • Awareness programmes for women and adolescent girls.
  • Blood donation and eye donation camps.
  • Palliative care
  • Geriatric care

 

    4.3 Sanitation   

  • Construction of household toilets.
  • Construction of toilets for children in the schools.

 5. Governance Structure

A robust and transparent governance structure is constituted to oversee the implementation of our CSR Policy, in compliance with the requirements of Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013.

 

5.1 Board?level CSR Committee

The CSR governance structure will be headed by the Board Level CSR committee that will be ultimately responsible for the CSR projects undertaken. The committee will report to the Board of Directors.

 

5.1.1 Members

? Formulate and update our CSR Policy, which will be approved by the Board

? Suggest areas of intervention to the Board

? Approve projects that are in line with the CSR policy

? Put monitoring mechanisms in place to track the progress of each project

? Recommend the CSR expenditure to the Board who will approve it

? Meet at least twice a year to review the progress made

.

6. CSR Budget

The total budget for the CSR projects will be decided by the CSR Committee.

 

7. Treatment of Surpluses

Any surplus generated from CSR projects undertaken by us will be tracked and channelized into our CSR corpus. These funds will be further used in development of the CSR projects and will not be added to the normal business profits.
